Criminal Violations

Criminal violations are divided into three different categories such as infractions, misdemeanors, and felonies. Infractions are minor violations. Speeding, reckless driving, resisting arrest, damage to property and hit and run are tickets that are mostly known as an infraction. Misdemeanors are more serious crimes that can result in up to a year in prison. Some types of misdemeanors are petty theft, prostitution, public intoxication, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. Possession of marijuana and vandalism are other examples of common misdemeanors. Felonies can cause a person to be sentenced to death or life imprisonment. Types of felonies are murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault, rape, sexual assault, arson, and robbery. Even though every criminal violation is bad some are less punishable than others. All criminal cases require a great amount of evidence to prosecute. A person has very limited rights to appeal in criminal cases.
